The School of Computer Science and Applications at Chhatrapati Shahu Institute of Business Education and Research (CSIBER), Kolhapur successfully organized a three-day induction program for the newly admitted BCA Part-I students from September 25 to 27, 2025. The program was designed to orient students towards their academic journey, introduce them to institutional values, and familiarize them with the facilities and opportunities available at CSIBER.

Day 1: Inaugural Session and Institutional Insights

The program began on Thursday, September 25, with a traditional watering of the plant ceremony, symbolizing growth and knowledge.

Chief Guest Dr. Abhijeet Haval, Owner of Smile Computers Pvt. Ltd., Kolhapur, shared his entrepreneurial journey and motivated students to embrace technology and innovation.

Dr. R.K. Tailor, Director of CSIBER, highlighted the importance of ethics, values, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Former Director Dr. B.N. Menon provided an overview of the institute’s legacy and contributions to quality education in the region. Dean Dr. S.D. Bhoite introduced students to the Computer Science and Applications Department, while Dr. S.S. Jamsandekar, IQAC Coordinator, explained the quality assurance process at CSIBER.

The session laid a strong foundation, instilling confidence among students about their choice of pursuing BCA at CSIBER. The program was anchored by Prof. Sneh Nagaonkar.

Day 2: Academic Structure and Student Support

Friday, September 26, focused on academics and support systems.

  • Dr. Ajay D. Shinde explained the BCA curriculum, career prospects, and opportunities in IT.
  • Mr. M.B. Patil presented an overview of the state-of-the-art infrastructure.
  • Dr. D.N. Valvi sensitized students on Anti-Ragging Awareness, reinforcing CSIBER’s zero-tolerance policy.
  • Dr. K.N. Ranbhare conducted a counselling session on mental well-being, stress management, and personal growth.

The day emphasized not only academics but also CSIBER’s student-friendly and supportive environment.

Day 3: Rules, Ethics, and Facilities

On Saturday, September 27, the final sessions focused on ethics, rules, and facilities.

  • Mr. V.S. Salokhe explained the administrative framework.
  • Mr. R.T. Thorat detailed the examination system and evaluation methods.
  • Mrs. S.A. Nagaonkar guided students on the Code of Conduct and Ethics, stressing discipline, integrity, and responsibility.
  • Dr. Rujeshwari S.N., Mrs. V.K. Patil, Mrs. S.A. Salokhe, and Mr. N.N. Kulkarni conducted a session on library resources, followed by a campus and library visit.

A Motivating Start for BCA 2025–26 Batch

The three-day induction program provided the students with an inspiring start to their academic journey. By blending academic insights with ethical values and institutional culture, CSIBER successfully prepared its new BCA batch to embrace technology, adopt ethical practices, and pursue excellence.
